Read what we learned in the previous season and a little cheer history from me.

The DCC in the 1970s changed the face of cheerleading, which can be seen at American football games. It was then that Tex Schramm turned the university's coed team into dancers who were to embody America's favorites.

As it turned out, conservative Texas welcome in a very positive meaning (for the time) the controversial version of cheerleading.

Recruiting for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is a multi-step process that pits great dancers against a wall of exacting corporate requirements.

Cheerleaders are selected according to a detailed set of rules. One of them is that the team should include all types of beauty.

The body type is very important, as cheerleaders are supposed to be perfect to represent the team perfectly. They are supposed to express themselves beautifully and be able to behave in unusual situations, such as visiting a Veteran's Home or a children's hospital. They are supposed to look like American's fantasies, while coming from good families, studying or working. It is worth emphasizing here that being cheerleaders will never be a full-time job.

It is considered as a privilege and full dedication. The exacting standards mean that the smallest detail can result in not making the team.

You're beautiful, you dance great, but you don't look good on the screen? You are out!

For many, it's a phenomenon how sexy cheerleaders drew millions of people in front of TV sets and hundreds of thousands to stadiums in conservative Texas in the 1970s. In the previous season, the theme of faith runs through almost every episode. A meeting with a pastor, prayers before games or meals.

What will we find in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders series?

This is what the poster for the new season looks like, and what do we find in the previous season?

In order not to spoil your fun, I will not describe the story of each girl however, one thing is worth knowing.

It is a bittersweet story about the dream of getting into a cheerleading group, which is embedded in American pop culture, probably as much as Coca-Cola or Elvis Presley.

On the positive side, this series shows how difficult it is just to get into a team, how many physically and emotionally tough moments one has to go through, with no guarantee of staying in the squad. Could it change the perception of entertaining cheerleading in Europe?Personally, I don't think so. In the States, where competitive cheerleading as well as football match cheerleading are already embedded in the culture of the country, the treatment of cheerleaders is quite different. The very approach of sports clubs is radically different as well. Where sports are in private hands, club authorities know that entertaining them is crucial to making money. Therefore, the cheerleaders, who have been with the Dallas Cowboys for decades, are expected to be perfect and are expected to make money for the club.

And all this in the name of representing the huge brand that is the Dallas Cowboys.

For many, the series may be an eye-opener as to how there is drama and inequality behind the entertainment of the game.

Sports have long been about more than just the sports score.

Dynamics of the series

Season 1 begins by getting to know the girls who are preparing to be recruited. We also get to know their families and their stories. They hold many jobs like accountant or nurse, which some of them will have to give up because being on the team means moving to Dallas.

At the very beginning, we are also introduced to the two people responsible for the entire Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Judy Trammell and Kelli Finglass, who were once DC cheerleaders themselves, and later continued the mission of Suzanne Mitchell, who was the first director of the entire project, and in particular of the many rules, which increased in number from year to year.

The series itself is shown as a struggle against time, as each episode brings us closer to the first game, as well as other big events like the Thanksgiving Day game, which has almost grown into a SuperBowl in Dallas, and the events around Christmas.

With successive episodes we go through a collercoaster of emotions, from successes to failures. And also the main one, rejection from the future DCC lineup.

Sitting on the couch, it's easy to call these emotional moments exaggerated, that the girls are too emotional, but let's remember that getting into the DCC is a once-a-year opportunity that you work very hard for for years. Fortunately, Netflix did not overdo it with music or dramatic shots.

The very first episodes show us what great dancers we are dealing with! These are professionals, trained in dance since they learned to walk.

What do we learn from the series?

That you are judged in every aspect of your life, including your private life. While at DCC, forget about chewing gum or showing up in public without makeup.

That your emotions don't matter. You're at the DCC and you're performing in front of 93,000 people, in one of the largest stadiums in the world and in front of millions in front of TV sets. Everything is supposed to be perfect. However, in a threatening situation, the whole club is on the side of the cheerleaders!

That in addition to the “big routines,” cheerleaders are supposed to know 50! sideline routines and never know which one they will dance. Unbeknownst to the DJ's playlist, the group leader quickly chooses an arrangement that matches the music being played. And so it goes for 3 hours!

Always smiling, always perfect.

That a match script for cheerleaders is 36 pages and a match day is 11 hours of work.

That...... and many more eye-opening facts about how difficult this job/mission is. The players can be forgiven for losing, the cheerleaders for a mistake? NEVER!

Summary

Do I recommend the series to watch? Definitely yes! It shows us a level of organization that we will not have in Poland for a long time. Whether this is a good thing or not I leave to you.

It shows how seriously the fan's customer exeprience is taken in terms of entertainment.

I look forward to reading your comments after watching the first season!
